OnePlus previously teased “Something New” with its current OnePlus 5 flagship. Last year saw the company release the limited edition Midnight Black OnePlus 3T after the overwhelming response related to the colette Black variant of the late 2016 flagship. Now that the OnePlus 5 is widely available in Midnight Black, the company has decided to bring back a familiar color as a limited edition model.
It is finally official. The OnePlus 5 is now available in Soft Gold color. This is the same color that was offered with the OnePlus 3T when it was launched last year. This does not come as a surprise either as OnePlus played safe, releasing a color option that has already been marketed before with another device. It is however a limited edition, meaning that it will soon run out of stock.
A quick recap – the OnePlus 5 retains the same Optic AMOLED display in 1080p resolution, measuring 5.5-inches. Underneath the hood is the flagship Snapdragon 835 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. The camera department now consists of a dual camera setup of 20MP + 16MP sensors, plus a sharp selfie shooter of 16MP. The phone packs a 3,300mAh battery.
It is uncertain as to whether the Soft Gold model of the OnePlus 5 will be made available in Malaysia, but the current Slate Gray and Midnight Black variants are being discounted on online retailers.
