After being on the receiving end of leaks, Nvidia has finally come clean with the latest entries into the GTX 10 series, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 and the GTX 1050 Ti.
Both the GTX 1050 and the GTX 1050 Ti are based on the GP107 GPU design, and as the monikers indicate, the GTX 1050 Ti is the one that has a bit more power behind it. In terms of numbers, the GTX 1050 will come with 640 CUDA cores, 2GB of GDDR5 memory, and a TDP of 75W. For the GTX 1050 Ti, this card will have 768 CUDA cores, 4GB of GDDR5 memory, as well as a TDP of 75W.
Interestingly, both the GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti’s TDP rating means that it is powerful enough to run straight off the board, negating the need for a PCI-e power connector. That said, cards made from Nvidia partners will still require additional power to facilitate its custom coolers as well as overclocking. Much like the GTX 1060, both the 1050 cards will not be supporting SLi.
Performance-wise, the GTX 1050 is stated to be three times more powerful than the GTX 750. According to the benchmark results provided by Nvidia, the GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti will be targeting the mid to high settings in games.
The GTX 1050 and the GTX 1050 Ti will have a recommended retail price of USD109 (RM457) and USD139 (RM583) respectively. Both cards will be available on the 25th of October. Unfortunately, neither cards will be getting the Founders Edition treatment, so partner boards are the way to go with the GTX 1050.
