With all the rampant kidnappings and rising number of missing children, keeping tabs on your kids is now a neccessity. With that in mind, Sibyl World Sdn Bhd has launched Tencent QQ Watch in Malaysia to allow you to not only know the whereabouts of your kids, but to communicate with them as well without needing to buy them a mobile phone, since most schools don’t allow it.
The QQ Watch uses Tencent Big Data platform, which consists of Tencent Map, Tencent Big Data, and Tencent foundation. Tencent, known for its popular social online platform WeChat, is one of the China’s largest Internet community. With such a background, the QQ Watch also sports communication features such as group chat and two-way conversation, to keep communication between the child and 16+5 set members available at all times. In addition, the QQ Watch make and receive calls, but all these are controlled by the admin, so that the child is not able to communicate with strangers via this device. Most importantly, you can keep track of your kids with its GPS locater, and other information via QQWatch app on your smartphone.
Since the QQ Watch works like a regular watch, children can wear it to school. Made from food grade silica gel, it is hypoallergenic and anti-static, and has an IP65 rating.
The QQ Watch comes in three colours – yellow, blue, and pink, and offers other accessories such as a lanyard to wear it as a necklace. Priced at RM499 during a 1-month promotional period, after which it will retail as RM569. Available at Popular Book Stores and Watsons stores end of May 2016.
