Nothing has introduced the Ear (2) wireless earbuds through an intriguing YouTube video, which we highly recommend you watch it to enjoy all the laughs as CEO Carl Pei does the presentation mimicking top tech YouTubers.
The Ear (2) may resemble its predecessor a lot with the same transparent case design, but the earbuds are in fact smaller and weighs even lighter at just 4.5g per piece.
Nothing claims to have improved the Ear (2)’s sound performance by introducing a new chamber design and 11.6mm dynamic driver, it also supports the LHDC 5.0 codec which can transmit up to 1Mbps of data over Bluetooth 5.3 to enable Hi-Res audio.

With Bluetooth 5.3, the Ear (2) can be paired to two devices simultaneously, while Nothing has made it switch between two devices easier than before. For instance, when paired to a computer and smartphone and while you are playing music on the former, it automatically switches to your phone when there’s an incoming call and pauses the music on the computer, resuming playback after you end the call.
The Ear (2)’s ANC performance has also significantly improved as it cancels noise at up to the 5000Hz frequency with a -40dB reduction in ambient noise, an interesting claim that we will have to find out when we get a review unit.
Battery life of the Ear (2) now goes up to 36 hours with the case and ANC off, while turning on ANC will greatly reduce that to 22.5 hours with 4 hours per session, the case continues to feature Qi wireless charging at 2.5W, which a 10 minute charge will give you up to 8 hours of listening time.
The Nothing Ear (2) retails at RM599 in Malaysia and preorders begin on March 23, which sees a RM100 increase in price from its predecessor no thanks to increased manufacturing costs and inflation, general availability will be made on April 8 which you can purchase it at Nothing Malaysia’s official Shopee and Lazada stores.
