HMD Global today unveiled its first smartphone with a punch-hole display in Taiwan, dubbed Nokia X71. Thanks to the punch-hole camera cutout, Nokia X71 looks very different from all the other smartphones that the Finnish manufacturer has launched so far. HMD claims the device has a highly impressive 93% screen-to-body ratio.

The Nokia X71 has a glass sandwich design with a 6.39-inch PureDisplay offering 1080 x 2316 Full HD+ resolution and a 19.3:9 aspect ratio. When it comes to performance, the latest smartphone from HMD Global runs on a Snapdragon 660 AIE octa-core processor. While the Snapdragon 660 AIE still remains a capable chipset, there is no getting around the fact that it is now dated. HMD has clubbed the 14nm Snapdragon chipset on the X71 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory.

At the rear, Nokia’s new X71 has a 48MP + 8MP + 5MP triple-camera setup. The primary 48MP sensor is paired an f/1.8 aperture ZEISS-certified lens. The punch-hole cutout on the front houses a 16MP selfie camera with ZESS optics. Fueling the internals of the Nokia X71 is a 3500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. It also includes a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a notification light embedded into the power button. In terms of software, the phone will ship with stock Android Pie OS.

In Taiwan, the X71 has been priced at TWD 11,990 (RM1,588 approximately). Available only in Black, the smartphone is set to go on sale starting April 10th. A global version of the smartphone is expected to be launched in the near future.
