Nokia 8 set for August 16 reveal

We’ve come across countless rumors across the web relating to Nokia’s upcoming high end flagship smartphone by Chinese company HMD Global. The smartphone maker recently unveiled a couple of Nokia handsets like the Nokia 3, 5 and 6. The long awaited Nokia 8 finally has a launch date set in August in London.

The Nokia 8 is has been rumored to sport a Snapdragon 835 processor, the same chipset seen underneath the hoods of this year’s flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy S8, Sony Xperia XZ Premium, OnePlus 5 and a couple of others. It is said to be powered by 4GB or 6GB of RAM with 64GB and 128GB of storage space respectively.

As for its display, the Nokia 8 has been tipped to go with a 5.3-inch screen in QHD resolution, placing it on the same level as current flagship smartphones. It will also feature a dual rear camera setup by German optics expert ZEISS, with both sensors to be of 13 megapixels each.

Generally, the leaks so far seem to be pretty consistent leading to next month’s launch. Speaking of which, HMD Global has set the exact launch date on the 16th of August, which is a little over three weeks from now. Do you think the Nokia 8 will carry an affordable price tag like the rest in the lineup?
