Jide initially introduced Remix OS to be ran on laptops and PC’s with the liberty for user to have Android operating on their devices with multi-tasking abilities and close to desktop using experiences. The company has released a slightly more stable beta version of the OS last month, which includes dual-booting options, OTA updates and 32-bit PC support to revive older and aged PC’s with lower specs. This time around, Jide has released the Remix OS 2.0 for the Nexus 9 and Nexus 10 tablets.

Alongside the software releases, Jide has also rolled out a stable release for its own Ultratablet. With the ability for your Nexus tablet to run Remix OS, you can now turn it into a partial desktop device, since Remix OS packs many multi-tasking features such as being able to resize windows and a task bar. These features aren’t natively available on stock Android but Android N will be introduced with a couple of multi-tasking features in hand.

Jide has a guide readily available for those who are keen to hop on the Remix OS bandwagon. Do note that flashing the OS onto your Nexus tablet will require an adb tool installed on your computer. The image files can then be installed using fastboot. The step-by-step guide is available here. Have you used Remix OS? Tell us your thoughts!
