Even though the big announcements have concluded on the first day of WWDC 2017, we still have more news on the latest products from Apple and this one comes in the form of a new feature in the latest developer preview of iOS 11. There are tips and tricks on conserving the fast depleting storage that comes in an iPhone, but Apple decided to take matters into their own hands by figuring out what to delete to free up space.
In the phone’s storage menu, there are tailored suggestions on how to free up space with highlighted areas on where you could potentially get extra space with minimal impact. Options provided could be things like emptying your recently deleted albums in Photos or delete large attachments or iMessage threads. There are other options that work on a scenario basis such as offload unused apps that will remove apps but preserving documents and data that comes with the app and automatically deleting conversations that are a year old.
Of course, this could not be enough for some users that have a large digital footprint but it could potentially educate you in areas of how apps use the storage in your phone and save you a lot of hassle especially those that own a 16GB iPhone.
