Between Nokia, Huawei and LG, you could be forgiven that Lenovo did announce their own phones today. Targeted towards the affordable crowd, Lenovo announced two new entries into the Moto G-line of smartphones, the Moto G5 and the Moto G5 Plus.
As the name implies, the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus have different configurations, so lets begin with the Moto G5. Being the more affordable of the two, the Moto G5 comes with a 5″ Full HD screen. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor, up to 3GB of RAM, up to 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded via microSD card, and a 2,800mAh battery. For the camera, the Moto G5 comes with a 13MP f/2.0 rear camera with phase detect autofocus. As for the front, the Moto G5 sports a rather standard 5MP snapper.
Moving on, we have the higher-spec Moto G5 Plus. This particular variant comes with a 5.2″ Full HD screen and is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor, up to 4GB of RAM, up to 64GB of internal storage that much like the G5, could be expanded via microSD card, as well as a meatier 3,000mAh battery. On the camera side of things, the Moto G5 Plus comes with a 12MP f/1.7 rear camera with dual-focus pixels, while the front camera is the identical 5MP snapper that can be found on the Moto G5. In a highly curious note, the Moto G5 Plus will come with NFC capabilities, but only on non-U.S. models of the smartphone. Meanwhile, the Moto G5 will not have any NFC capabilities whatsoever.
Both smartphones will run on Android Nougat 7.0, complete with Google Assistant. On top of that, both phones will also come with a fingerprint scanner. THe Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus will be making its way into the market in March. The Moto G5 will have a starting price of EUR199 (RM935) for the 2GB RAM-16GB Storage configuration, while prices for the Moto G5 Plus starts at EUR229 (RM1,076) for the 2GB RAM-32GB storage configuration.
