As expected from Huawei, the Chinese company announced the P10 and P10 Pro at MWC 2017 earlier today. With the P10, Huawei is doubling down on its collaboration with Leica as the cameras are very much the main selling point of the device.

Starting off with the specifications, the P10 sports a 5.1″ Full HD screen and is powered by a Kirin 960 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and a 3,200mAh battery. As for the P10 Pro, the phone comes with a 5.5″ 1440p screen and is powered by the same Kirin 960 processor, up to 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB of internal storage, and a 3,750mAh battery. Both phones sport a front-facing fingerprint sensor and runs on an EMUI 5.1-skinned version of Android Nougat.

Now, we come to the camera. Continuing with its partnership with Leica, the P10 sports what Huawei is referring to as the “Leica Dual-Camera 2.0 Pro Edition”. This setup consists of a F1.9 SUMMILUX-H lens which is accompanied by a 20MP monochrome sensor and a 12MP regular sensor. Both cameras are supported by a four-in-one hybrid autofocus system as well as Optical Image Stabilization technology. While the camera on the P10 Pro is largely the same, the P10 Pro’s camera gets a f/1.8 aperture instead of the P10’s f/2.2 aperture.

Moving on to the front, the P10 and P10 Pro shares the same Leica-branded front-facing camera. While the company did not explicitly mention the specifications of the front camera, Huawei states that the camera comes with features such as “studio-like re-lighting” and “3D facial detection technology”.

The Huawei P10 and P10 Pro will be arriving in the Asia region in April 2017. The regular P10 will be priced at EUR649 (RM3,049), the 64GB+4GB P10 Pro will retail for EUR699 (RM3,282), while the 128GB+6GB P10 Pro will go for EUR799 (RM3,751).
