MSI’s notebooks are well known for gaming purposes and a couple of months back we featured the company’s ridiculously huge GT80 Notebook with a mechanical keyboard, the company has now announced its new GE Apache mid-range gaming notebook series in the market, which comes with GeForce GTX 960M/965M graphics and a super lightweight form factor.
The GE Series comes in two models – the GE72 and GE62, these new notebooks from MSI features the same set of features found on MSI laptops, such as a SteelSeries Engine 3 keyboard (not mechanical keyboard folks!), DynaAudio sound engine with 2.1 channel and optional 3 SSD RAID 0 configuration for speedy performance.
The GE72 is a super lightweight 17.3-inch laptop at 2.7kg, it has a Full HD (1920×1080) display and hardware power is managed by a Core i7 4720HQ processor, it has support for up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM, 384GB Super RAID 2 + 1TB 7200RPM storage combos, a choice of a BluRay or DVD Writer optical drive, Killer Gigabit LAN and a 6-cell 51Wh battery that could deliver up to 5-6 hours of efficient usage. On the other hand, the GE62 has a 15.6-inch display that comes with a UHD resolution (3840×2160) display and comes with a GeForce GTX 970M option.
The new GE Apache series is a direct answer to Alienware’s recent offering, prices of the GE62 and GE72 will start from RM4,699 and RM4,599 respectively.
