Motorola’s first 2019 Android One smartphone will reportedly be launched later this month. Twitter user Sudhanshu Ambhore has shared a media invite to the company’s launch event in Sao Paulo, Brazil on May 15. However, Motorola has not confirmed anything officially just yet.
The Motorola One Vision is expected to be the Lenovo-owned company’s first smartphone to feature Samsung’s mid-range Exynos 9610 chipset. It will also have a 6.2-inch Full HD+ resolution display with a punch-hole for the selfie camera.
As shown by leaked renders of the smartphone, the upcoming Android One smartphone will have dual cameras at the rear. The primary sensor is expected to be a 48-megapixel sensor, which will capture 12MP stills by default. In addition to the dual cameras and an LED flash, the back of the phone will also house a fingerprint sensor embedded inside the company’s logo.
Keeping the lights on will be a 3500mAh capacity non-removable battery, significantly smaller than the 5000mAh cell fueling the Motorola One Power. Just as you would expect, however, the Motorola One Vision will have support for fast charging via a USB Type-C port. The Android One smartphone will ship with stock Android 9 Pie out of the box. In China, the smartphone is expected to be launched as the Motorola P40.
