Motorola Nio: 2021 flagship phone may have an unconventional 105Hz screen

Motorola’s next flagship phone, the Motorola Nio, will be released in 2021 with an uncommon feature — a display with a 105Hz refresh rate.

105Hz is just the peak refresh rate

According to XDA Developers, the company is testing “a default peak refresh rate of 105Hz” for the flagship Nio. However, it’s not necessary that the final unit will sport a 105Hz display. Similar to how ASUS tested a 160Hz peak refresh rate for the ROG Phone 3 but ended up with a 144Hz display, the Motorola Nio may just end up with a 90Hz display.

Motorola Nio’s rumored specs

Apart from that, the Motorola Nio is expected to push a FHD+ resolution on its 6.7-inch display and house a 5,000mAh battery. It’ll come with a Snapdragon 865 chip paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Motorola Nio may come with a 64MP main camera paired with another 16MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it’ll be packed with a 16MP lens accompanied by an 8MP sensor.

We should also see support for 5G connectivity with the new Motorola flagship, but we’ll get more information regarding its specs in the coming months.
