OnePlus stuck with a safe played controversial design with the OnePlus 5, which is identical to that of the iPhone 7 Plus. The company also offered totally different color options when compared to the OnePlus 3 and 3T, with the exception of the limited Midnight Black version of the 3T.
The OnePlus 5 is currently available in the Midnight Black and Slate Gray color options. Both are sleek with the Midnight Black model obviously sporting deeper colors. A TENAA listing suggests that OnePlus will be adding another color model to its current OnePlus 5 collection – a “Mint Gold” model.
TENAA listings are generally accurate but we are uncertain as to whether or not the new color option will be “Mint Gold” instead of the good ol’ Soft Gold color of the OnePlus 3T. The phone was also available in the Gunmetal Gray color option, which would have been a more contrasting color choice instead of the Slate Gray model.
For what’s worth, Mint Gold might turn out to be a more faint Gold looking OnePlus 5, though we can’t say for sure how will that color play out. The Gold hype has pretty much died down at the expense of other colors such as Rose Gold, matte black colors and most recently, blue and lime green colored phones.
