HTC has been picking up the pace since the criticism of its under-performing One M9 last year. With devices like the HTC A9 and this year’s flagship, the HTC 10, the Taiwanese manufacturer has proven to the world that it still deserves a place in the competition of smartphones.

HTC has unveiled another handset to its midrange lineup of smartphones. In addtion to the artistically designed HTC Desire 825 that was launched back in February, the company has announced the HTC Desire 830, a successor to the Desire 820 from late 2014. Like its predecessor, the HTC Desire 830 sports a plastic body, along with a couple of color punches and accents to it.

We’re looking at a 5.5-inch 1080p display on the Desire 830, alongside an octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. In the camera department is where the Desire 830 shines more than a typical midranger, featuring a 13MP rear facing camera with OIS and f/2.0 aperture, coupled with a 4MP UltraPixel selfie camera, also with f/2.0 aperture. Powering the handset is a 2,800mAh battery.

It is likely that the HTC Desire 830 will see itself venturing out from Taiwan. But for now, the device carries a price tag of NT$9,990 (RM1,231.49). What do you think about this seemingly impressive midrange smartphone by HTC?
