Microsoft's "Surface as a Service" initiative is now available in Malaysia

Back in July 2016, we’ve made mention of Microsoft’s “Surface as a Service” initiative that lets businesses lease out Surface Pro 4 units for a monthly fee. Well, Malaysian businesses who are hoping that this initiative would arrive in Malaysia are now in luck, as Microsoft is now offering the “Surface as a Service” locally as well.

Available through Ingram Micro and 3StepIT, the local version of Surface as a Service will allow businesses to lease out a number of i5 256GB variants of the Surface Pro 4, complete with Type Cover, extended hardware services warranty, and Office 365 Business. In order to be eligible for this initiative, the business is question must least a minimum of five Surface Pro 4 units. 

Businesses who are interested in this program can choose to lease the Surface Pro 4 for either two years or three years. Those who choose to lease the unit for 2 years will have to pay RM280 per month per unit, while those who opted for three years will need to pay RM212 per month per unit. Seeing as a company needs to lease at least five units, this means that the company needs to pay at least RM1,400 per month for the two year option, or at least RM1,060 per month for the three year option.
