Last month, we’ve mentioned that Microsoft has introduced the Surface Membership Plan, an initiative that allows an individual to lease a Surface tablet. Today, Microsoft is launching yet another Surface leasing plan, but unlike the Surface Membership Plan, this one is aimed at SMBs and enterprise markets instead of individuals.
Called the “Surface as a Service” initiative, this plan would allow Microsoft’s partners to lease out Surface devices. Tablets aren’t the only thing that can be leased out as Microsoft has revealed that Windows 365, Windows 10 and other ISV software will also be part of the “Surface as a Service” initiative.
While the initiative is currently available only in Europe thanks to a cloud solutions provider called ALSO, Microsoft has promised that they intend to roll out this initiative globally as they secure similar partnerships in other countries.
