After getting hit by a USD 10,000 suit, Microsoft has finally wised up about their abnormally-aggressive Windows 10 upgrade program. To that end, Microsoft has pledged to clarify the upgrade options that users have been faced with for the past year or so.
One of the key changes that will Microsoft will be implementing is a reconfigured dialogue box. This time, the dialogue box will include the standard three options as well as a way to decline the free offer by way of the red X that will close the dialogue rather than scheduling the update for a later date as it currently does.
Terry Myerson, head of Windows, has spoken to The Verge that these updates will be coming within the week. “Since we introduced a new upgrade experience for Windows 10, we’ve received feedback that some of our valued customers found it confusing. We’ve been working hard to incorporate their feedback and this week, we’ll roll out a new upgrade experience with clear options to upgrade now, schedule a time, or decline a free offer,” says Myerson.
For those who are still on the fence, the free Windows 10 upgrade offer lasts until the 30th of July. Past that date, it’s going to cost you USD 119 (RM 480) to upgrade to Windows 10
