Microsoft’s upcoming update to Windows 10, the Creators Update, will bring with it Windows Holographic. Back during the Microsoft announcement, the company revealed that it has partnered up with various PC makers to come up with their own inexpensive version of the virtual reality headset. Many of us were worried that these VR headsets will require a top of the line computer to power it much like the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift. Today, Microsoft has put those worries to rest as the company has revealed the minimum specifications required to get them running.

According to a report from The Verge, it appears that the latest test build of Windows 10 comes with a “Windows Holographic First Run” application. This app tests the machine to ensure that the machine is capable of running Windows Holographic. The base requirements are surprisingly low, as all you need is 4GB of RAM, a USB 3.0 port, a graphics card with DirectX 12 support, and a four core processor or a dual-core processor with hyperthreading.

This relatively basic requirement means that using Windows Holographic will not require a huge investment in components, which is great for the general public. Microsoft is expected to host an event in December that will reveal more about its VR headsets, so we’ll most likely hear more about Windows Holographic during the event.
