Microsoft launches News Pro app for iOS

Microsoft Garage has launched a new app, News Pro, for the web and on iOS.

While this app isn’t by surprise launched first to Apple’s exclusive App Store, Microsoft claims that this app works like Flipboard. News Pro searches for news available which is related to your work, providing relevant news. It also has the option for you to pick your news topics, hence its similarity to Flipboard. Apart from that, the sign-in option to Facebook and LinkedIn to tailor your favored news topics according to your interests and work experience.

On the other hand however, Apple has its own news app on iOS – Apple News, which makes you wonder why did Microsoft launch an iOS specific news app. Featuring a very Apple-esque design with a tonne load of features, it’s hard to tell whether News Pro will even have a hand in the news app competition.

Anyhow, the new news delivering service app might only be available on the web and on iOS, excluding it from Windows and Android platforms since its a Microsoft Garage project.
