Xiaomi is currently holding a launch in China, in which we are to expect the unveiling of the Mi MIX 2 and the Mi Note 3. Of course, we expect nothing less than the best from the company that wowed the world with the Mi MIX late last year. But Xiaomi has also launched yet another laptop that rivals Apple’s Macbook line, known as the Mi Notebook Pro.
The Mi Notebook Pro by Xiaomi will be the company’s latest flagship notebook. The Mi Notebook Pro is powered by 8th gen Intel Core i7 processor underneath the hood, with a maximum clock speed of 4.0 GHz, claimed to be 40% more powerful than the 7th gen Core i7 chipset. The notebook also comes with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of NVMe SSD storage from 4 expansion slots, plus an NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics card.
For a laptop with a slim form factor, the Mi Notebook Pro comes with an impressive symmetrical cooling design with double the inbound and outbound airflow. Pitting it up against the Macbook Pro from Apple, the Mi Notebook Pro features a keyboard area which is 19% larger than that of the Macbook Pro for a more ergonomic typing experience. Coupled with the 15.6-inch display, the Mi Notebook Pro weighs in at a modest 1.95 kg, ideal for portability.
Xiaomi also took a jab at Apple, with its laptop featuring more ports than the Macbook Pro – an SD card slot, a data USB C port, a full function USB C port, a full sized HDMI port, 2 USB 3.0 ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The laptop also has a fingerprint sensor embedded beneath the trackpad for Windows Hello support.
The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro will most likely be available exclusively in Chinese markets. The notebook starts off with a price of 5,599 CNY (RM 3,609.90) for the Core i5 model. Do you think Xiaomi should bring the Mi Notebook Pro to Malaysia?
