Mi 6 and Mi Max 2 can now be update to a stable version of MIUI 9

Owners of some of the Mi phones will not have to wait any longer to get MIUI 9 as it will be rolling out a global stable version of the update. The update has reached the Mi Max 2 and the Mi 6 but there is a list of devices that will be getting the update soon.

The MIUI 9 is said to be faster than the previous version and alongside that, it will come with new icons, new animations when closing and launching applications and a handful of system optimizations. In addition to that, users will also have access to the multi-windows mode and the ability to search for applications in the Dual Applications mode. They have also included better protection from unintentionally tapping on the Dial Pad, improved timers for Silent/DND mode and a redesigned home page.

If you do own either the Mi Max 2 or the Mi 6, be sure to keep an eye on prompts for the new update or you can force your phone to check for an update to check if the update has already arrived on your phone.
