Meizu, a Chinese OEM although known for its copycat designs, has manage to turn some heads in the consumer market, mostly due to the affordable prices of its smartphones. The company has unveiled a successor to the M2 Note, refreshing the annual Note lineup. Introducing the M3 Note, adopting what seems to be a trend among affordable and mid range smartphones nowadays.
The trend, if not notable enough, includes premium material body and the almost mandatory fingerprint sensor. First of all, the M3 Note features a 6000 series aluminium unibody, with a 2.5D glass for its display, which is a 5.5-inch 1080p display. Underneath the hood is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor packing Cortex-A53 cores, 2GB or 3GB of RAM with 16GB and 32GB expandable storage options respectively. On board the M3 Note is Android 5.1 Lollipop which can prove to be a drawback in 2016.
The M3 Note sports a 13MP rear facing camera equipped with PDAF auto-focus, a common sight among Chinese handsets, and a 5MP selfie shooter. The fingerprint sensor is embedded in the home button, instead of the more likeable rear placement. All of these are powered by a huge 4,100mAh battery. The 2GB RAM variant comes priced at CNY 799 (RM480.60) and the 3GB RAM model at CNY 999 (RM600.91) and will be set to be sold in the Chinese market on the 11th of this month.
