Taking design cues and directly aiming at Apple, Meizu has announced the Meizu m3 note earlier this month. The budget device is housed in a all-metal build and packs a fingerprint sensor, an impressive package for a pretty low and affordable price tag. Meizu isn’t resting on their laurels, and now it has introduced the successor to the Meizu m2, the entry-level m3.
Surprisingly, the m3 is carrying the same price tag as its predecessor, but we’ll keep that for later. First off, the display of the m3 is a 5-inch 720p display of 2.5D glass, boasting slight curves to it. Underneath the hood is an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor, replacing the older quad-core MT6735 found in the m2. The Meizu m3 is available in two RAM and storage configurations respectively – 2GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage, both expandable via the handset’s micro SD card slot.
The m3 sports a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie shooter, powered by a larger 2,870mAh battery compared to the 2,500mAh in the m2. Since it’s an entry-level device, there isn’t any fingerprint sensor found on the m3, unlike the bigger m3 note. The Meizu m3 comes in an array of color options – black, white, grey, blue, pink and gold. The 2GB RAM variant comes at a price of 599 CNY (RM361) and the 3GB variant is priced at 799 CNY (RM481.53). As for now, we aren’t sure whether the Meizu m3 will be arriving to Malaysian shores soon, but it is China-exclusive for the time being. How about that for under the RM500 price point?
