The Meizu M6 Note is Meizu’s first official smartphone to run on a Qualcomm processor. The company’s CEO has been known for his criticism of Qualcomm chips being more expensive than MediaTek processors of the same standard. Perhaps he has succumbed to peer pressure and it looks like the Meizu M6 Note had a good start to its campaign.

According to PR Newswire, Meizu recorded a total of 200,000 orders for the M6 Note on its first day of sale in China. While that figure might sound little, it is definitely a milestone for a company of Meizu’s stature, which hasn’t exactly been thriving well lately in the tough competition of local Chinese smartphone makers. The company also had a whopping 6.3 million pre-orders for the Meizu M6 Note in two weeks since its debut late last month.

The Meizu M6 Note is one of the most affordable dual camera smartphones out in the market today. The setup is of 12MP + 5MP, plus the rest of the specs don’t disappoint as well – a Snapdragon 625 processor with up to 4GB of RAM, a Full HD 5.5-inch display and a large 4,000mAh battery.

The Qualcomm powered Meizu M6 Note will probably soldier on to boost Meizu’s overall image and sales. What do you think Meizu’s ironic decision to adopt a Qualcomm chip this time?
