Details regarding this new Samsung handset have been leaked countless times over the last couple of months, even till as late as hours before its launch. The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro has finally been made official earlier today. While this phablet is certainly unfit to replace the Galaxy Note 7, it is impressive in its own stride as well.

In terms of its metal design, we see a mixed look from Samsung’s other handsets, plus design elements that seem to be inspired by Huawei’s Mate series. Diving into the Galaxy C9 Pro’s specs, it sports a 6-inch display at Full HD resolution, placing it in phablet territory. Underneath the hood lies a Snapdragon 653 processor, coupled with a whopping 6GB of onboard RAM. This makes the Galaxy C9 Pro Samsung’s first ever smartphone to pack this insane amount of RAM. The phone also has 64GB of internal storage which is expandable via a micro SD card.

Samsung did not skimp on the rest of its specs either. The camera department consists of 16MP cameras both on the rear and on the front. Both cameras feature a wide f/1.9 aperture which allows more light to be captured. Powering the massively sized phone is a 4,000mAh battery, which should translate to decent battery life given the C9 Pro’s 6-inch display. Other specs include a USB Type-C port, a Cirrus Hi-Fi audio codec, and Android 6.0.1 with Samsung’s Touchwiz on top.

The Galaxy C9 Pro is available in both Gold and Rose Gold, coming with a price tag equivalent to $470 (RM1,967.63). Such as the case with the rest of Samsung’s Galaxy C devices, the Galaxy C9 Pro is very likely to stay put as a China-exclusive device. What do you think of Samsung’s first phone with 6GB of RAM?
