L’Oréal has just revealed Perso, a beauty device that can customize your skincare, foundation, and lipstick — but it’ll only be available in 2021.

Despite the device needing at least another year before it launches, it’s still exciting news for the beauty industry because finding the right skincare, foundation and lipstick shade has been a constant struggle in the community. Paired with an AR app, users will be able to preview the foundation and lipstick colors on themselves before actually creating the product. Using its patented three-cartridge system, the device can dispense the right amount of different formulas to get the desired color. Users can even match their lipstick shade to their clothing or based on trends by using the app.

Perso can also customize user’s skincare products by using the app to scan different angles. Users can then select their skincare concern (e.g: large pores, fine lines, dark spots) to get a skincare regiment that suits them. The app will also take into account external factors like temperature, humidity, UV rays and more before creating the right skincare product for users.

There’s no doubt that this beauty device will be highly desirable in the beauty community, but the price point will be the main deciding factor. But then again, this device supposedly monitors your skin and gets better at creating the right formula over time, so it might be a worthy investment.
