LG Velvet official teaser confirms Snapdragon 765 5G chipset and four colours

The LG Velvet is the Korean giant’s upcoming entry into the mid-range segment – and it’s an exciting one because it takes on a new design philosophy that emphasize on minimalism.

As you may already, know the LG Velvet will come with what LG calls the raindrop camera layout that eliminates the square bump that seems to be the trend in 2020’s smartphones. This also means that the lenses are flush with the body. The cameras are arranged in a vertical arrangement of lenses, the largest at the top, followed by two more and the LED flash just below it.

We previously saw official mock drawings of the design – now, LG has shown how the devices will really look like, albeit in 3D renders, and they look awesome. In a teaser video posted on their Korean YouTube channel, we see the LG Velvet in all its glory, in four colour variants.

There’s the classic black and white, alongside green and a blue-orange gradient option. The back panel looks to be glass and is very glossy. But on the upside, the Velvet appears to be quite thin with a curved back panel.

Towards the end of the video, we also see that the LG Velvet will be powered by a Snapdragon 765 chipset that’s capable of 5G connectivity. All in all, this phone looks to be an interesting mid-ranged smartphone, and we’re hoping it’ll make its way into Malaysia.
