The LG TONE Free Earbuds are now available in Malaysia – you may remember one of its models come with a self-cleaning feature that makes use of UV light to kill off bacteria.
The model we’re talking about is of course the HBS-FN6, which costs RM799; then there’s also the HBS-FN4 which doesn’t come with the self-cleaning feature, so it’s cheaper, costing RM599.
The earbuds boast Meridian-engineered tech and design which LG claims offers clear, spatial audio. The latter is achieved thanks to Meridian’s Headphone Spatial Processing tech that reduces crosstalk between the left and right buds, allowing the pair to create a realistic soundstage. Each earpiece is packed with a 6mm driver that LG claims can still offer rich bass, along with crisp vocals.
The TONE Free earbuds come in a clamshell charging case that looks minimalistic – the HBS-FN6, of course, packs the aforementioned UVnano light that rids 99.9% of bacteria like E. coli and S. aureus 2. You won’t actually see the UV light in action however, as it only activates when the cover closes.
When it comes to charging, LG claims you can get up to one hour of music playback with just 5 minutes of charging; the earbuds offer up to 18 hours of use – 6 out of the box, and 12 while inside.
There’s a dedicated TONE Free app for your mobile phones which you can use to customize equalizers for your device.
You can purchase the earbuds via LG’s Lazada and Shopee pages; and according to Lowyat.net, they will be even cheaper at RM499 (HBS-FN6) and RM299 (HBS-FN4) this October 1-10.
