LG G5 se silently launches in Russia

A week ago we have came across rumors about an LG G5 se, a direct copycat of the title from the iPhone SE, launched by Apple just last month. Well, it isn’t exactly direct in this case, as LG has decided to go lower-case with the “se” title instead of “SE”, if you haven’t realized. But then again, the LG G5 se, spotted on LG’s Russian website definitely reminds us of the dwarfly iPhone SE.

Nevertheless, the LG G5 se features similar specs to the original LG G5. The se variant sports a 5.3-inch display at QHD. Underneath the hood is a Snapdragon 652 processor just as rumored alongside a downgrade from 4GB to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage expandable via micro SD. Camera-wise it’s the same as the G5, featuring a rear dual-camera setup of 16MP and 8MP, coupled with an 8MP front facing camera. A surprising difference which weren’t in rumors is that the G5 se does not have 4G LTE capabilites, with the device only limited to 3G, a letdown especially in 2016.

Thankfully, the LG G5 se supports external modules by LG, also known as LG Friends. The handset comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Other rumors suggest that the device will be heading to Latin America in the near future.
