Lenovo’s Phab 2 Pro was announced quite a while back, three months to be precise. The handset is the first ever Google Tango phone, sporting the company’s 3D mapping technology. However, the world’s first Tango enabled smartphone will be seeing a delay in its launch, till this fall.
The handset, slated to launch some time this month, has been pushed back to an unspecified date during fall instead. Fall ranges from as early as the end of this month till December, but we’re expecting Lenovo not to delay the device as long as 3 months, so a mid to end of October launch seems highly likely. Neither Lenovo or Google have notified anyone of the delay, as Lenovo’s US site quietly changed the summer launch to a fall launch.
Recapping the Phab 2 Pro’s specs, it features a massive 6.4-inch display at QHD resolution, a Snapdragon 652 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The handset sports a 16MP rear camera along with an 8MP selfie camera on the front. It is also equipped with a motion tracking camera and a depth camera for Tango. The Phab 2 Pro is powered by a 4,050mAh battery.
The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro still retains the same price tag despite the delay, at $499 (RM2,060.70). Looks like we’ll just have to wait a little longer for the Tango handset.
