Lenovo finally brought the ThinkPad X1 Extreme to Malaysia

Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 Extreme has finally arrived in Malaysia, and the ThinkPad can be a rather powerful device with great display, great audio and great security.

The X1 Extreme is a 15.6-inch FHD display that can also be upgraded to the 4K UHD touchscreen with Dolby Vision HDR, and the FHD display will be around 1.7kg whereas the touchscreen version will be around 1.8kg. It has two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 ports, and two USB Type-A ports, and it has a HD camera with 720p that is integrated with ThinkShutter privacy cover and an infrared camera which is used for the facial recognition in Windows Hello. The X1 Extreme also Match-on-Chip touch fingerprint reader and it supports FIDO authentication capabilities, allowing users to unlock the device without password.

Besides that, the X1 Extreme is equipped with the processor that can go up to 8th Gen Intel Core i7 or i7 vPro, in which the processors are much faster and more efficient, and the vPro processors allow remote management, update and repair which is more suited for large businesses. This means that when the device is infected by virus or needs to be updated, it can actually be repaired or updated remotely without needing the IT to be with the device physically. It is also able to support Windows 10 Pro, and it has NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB GDDR5, in addition to the fact that the device can house two SSDs up to 2TB max and up to 64GB DDR4 RAM. Other than that, the battery on the X1 Extreme can last up to 15 hours and with the Rapid Charge technology integrated in the device, it can charge up to 80% in an hour’s time.

The ThinkPad X1 Extreme will also be available with Intel Core i9 processor, but that option is only available from December onwards. The X1 Extreme is rather pricey at RM7,749, but if you’re purchasing the basic model at the website and also using the eCoupon provided, it’ll cost RM6,974.10 including delivery fees.
