If you haven’t known, the first Snapdragon 820 powered device wasn’t the Samsung Galaxy S7. In fact, it was the Le Max 2 by LeEco, a Chinese manufacturer. This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, considering the fact that the Chinese smartphone market has been growing rapidly, and increasingly competitive over the last couple of years. It turns out that LeEco isn’t done just yet, and will likely produce the first Snapdragon 823 powered smartphone, ahead of the rumored Galaxy Note 7 by Samsung.
The next LeEco flagship is said to be called the Le Max 2 Pro or the Le Max 3, and is rumored to be unveiled at Shanghai’s Mobile World Congress, packing the alleged Snapdragon 823 processor. The Snapdragon 823 processor is also tipped to be clocked at 2.6GHz. The current Snapdragon 820 has a clock speed of 2.15GHz. However the difference between both chips won’t be very much since the SD823 is said to be carrying the same 14nm process.
Other devices expected to feature the Snapdragon 823 SoC are the Galaxy Note 7 and the LG V11, the successor to the LG V10. MWC Shanghai will be held from June 29 to July 1 so stay tuned as we bring you more news like this!
