Some of you might not know this but the Chinese phone manufacturer, Xiaomi, has been developing their new Android Launcher, MIUI 9, for almost a year now and there is a rumour going around that says it will launch next month. A Weibo user posted the new lock screen which was confirmed by the official MIUI account and today there are some screenshots from Android Hits that tells us more about the new UI update.
The screenshot above shows us the about section of the phone and you might be wondering, why is it stated that MIUI 8. That’s because Xiaomi usually names the beta builds of a new UI one version behind. The About Phone section now shows us a nicely formatted information on the exact specs of the phone, which I find is a nice touch.
The screenshot above shows us the recent apps menu and there is a split-screen icon above, which is a feature already included into Nougat phones but reports claim this feature will also be available on phones running Marshmellow with MIUI 9. This new update is expected to launch before August 19 and will debut on the Mi 6.
