Kit — the new Facebook experimental messaging app that only works on the Apple Watch

Do you know what Kit stands for? Well, it stands for Keep in Touch and it’s also the name of Facebook’s new app that lets you contact your group of close friends via Apple Watch.

This new app will slightly resemble using iMessage on your Apple Watch, allowing you to send emojis, scribbles, voice recordings with just one tap. This app will be dependent on the Messenger service, but at the same time, it’s also different from the existing Messenger on Apple Watch.

Kit will require you to scan a QR code on your watch or enter an access code before you get to select your list of close friends (from Messenger). Unlike Messenger, this app is meant for you to easily keep in touch with the closer ones. Messenger, on the other hand, allows you to scroll through a tiny screen to reply to everyone on your Messenger.

The Kit app will be an interesting app for you to keep in touch with your loved ones without constantly staring at your smartphone. As of now, the Kit app is only available in China for Apple Watch only, so you won’t be seeing it on other smartwatches just yet.
