Jaguar I-Pace EV launches in Malaysia, priced from RM460,800

Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia (JLRM) has unveiled the Jaguar I-Pace, it is the brand’s very first premium electric SUV and has many impressive features to draw customers looking into a powerful yet practical EV.

The I-Pace comes fitted with dual electric motors on the front and back, producing up to 400 PS and 696 Nm of torque to an all-wheel drive system, which allows it to accelerate to 100km/h from the starting line in just 4.8 seconds and a 400m sprint in 12.4 seconds.

A 90kWh battery powers the electric motors and promises up to 470 km of range based on the WLTP cycle, Jaguar claims up to 53km of WLTP range per hour when charged over a 11kW AC charger, while it supports up to 100kW fast DC charging that offers 125km of range in 15 minutes.

The I-Pace is being offered two variants – the Black LE and HSE, which comes with different stylings and suspension options. The Black LE features coil springs on passive damping suspension while the HSE has electronically controlled air suspension.

On the inside, the Black LE variant’s upholstery features a duo leather trim and sports front seats, the seats are 12-way adjustable and has two-way manual headrests, the HSE variant offers Windsor Leather and Performance specification front seats, it is 14-way adjustable with heating and cooling.

Both variants are powered by the Pivi Pro infotainment system that comprises a 10-inch and 5.5-inch touch screen on the center console, it features a built-in navigation system with charging station POIs, which can help drivers estimate the remaining battery power to their destination while recommending charging stations to stop and charge along the way in long distance drives.

In other tech conveniences, the I-Pace features two 12V outlets, five USB ports and a Qi wireless charging pad, the HSE variant is exclusively fitted with the Meridian 3D surround sound system.

The Jaguar I-Pace is priced from RM460,800 for the Black LE variant and RM498,800 for the HSE variant, it comes with a 5-year or 150,000 km warranty with 3 years of roadside assistance, there’s also 5 years or 102,000 km of complimentary service and a main traction battery warranty of 8 years or 160,000 km.
