iPhone tops AnTuTU’s top 10 smartphone list in October

AnTuTu has always been one of the go to apps when it comes to comparing the raw speed and processing power of smartphones. Benchmarks don’t mean everything, but sometimes it just feels good if your phone’s benchmark scores beats another. AnTuTu has released its top 10 smartphones for October, and it looks like Apple has taken back its crown.

Based on the list, the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 8 clinch first and second places respectively. Both phones run on Apple’s latest A11 bionic chip underneath the hood, giving them a significant lead over the rest of the list dominated by Android smartphones. Both the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus scored above 210,000 points.

Coming in third is the OnePlus 5, which is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor alongside 8GB of RAM. The newly announced Nubia Z17s tails closely behind, sporting the same processor with the same amount of RAM as well, following by the slightly older Nubia Z17, also with the same mentioned specs.

The Huawei Mate 10 also makes this list, coming in at 6th place. Huawei’s own HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset proves to be a powerhouse, making the Mate 10 the only non-Snapdragon powered Android smartphone on this list. The 7th to 10th places are occupied by the HTC U11, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, Galaxy Note 8 and the Mi 6 respectively.

Once the iPhone X is added into the equation, it will likely sit within the top 3, as it also sports Apple’s A11 bionic chip. Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 840, 845 and 855 processors will likely pack more power, and will feature in next year’s Android flagships.
