The latest reports suggest the iPhone SE 2 to be arriving sometime in March as its production will be happening in February. This iPhone will have a few features that are found in iPhone 8 but come with the latest A13 chip and replace the Touch ID with Face ID.
According to Bloomberg’s sources, the upcoming iPhone will be a low-cost iPhone — analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicted it to be around $399. If true, then the iPhone SE 2 will be cheaper than the iPhone XR that was launched two years back.
If we look at earlier renders, the new iPhone will look very similar to the iPhone 8, but that will contradict the predictions that point towards no Touch ID. It could also be possible for this iPhone to take the iPhone 8’s form factor but instead of the thick bezels, it gets a fuller display with a fairly wide notch like the latter iPhones.
However, there’s no solid information regarding its potential of 5G connectivity at the time of writing. There were rumors that say Apple iPhones in 2020 will come with 5G connectivity, but that could be referring to its standard iPhone models that are released around September. In addition, integrating 5G technology into the iPhone SE 2 (or as some calls it, the iPhone 9) could mean higher cost.
