Most of us have definitely moved on from the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 tragedy, whose chapter was officially closed last month via an official and detailed explanation by Samsung regarding the cause behind the phablet’s fire incidents. It turns out that fire hazards are definitely a major concern in 2017, and an iPhone user has fallen victim to yet another iPhone fire incident.
The time was approximately three in the morning. Amanda Bentz, an iPhone 6 Plus user from Palm Harbor, Florida has claimed that her iPhone burst up into flames, waking her up just in time to save herself from the fire. According to Bentz, there happened to be a “shhhh” sound similar to fireworks while the iPhone was in flames. Luckily, Bentz is a light sleeper. She woke her husband Kyle up to smother the flames with his shirt. The phone is said to now be a “melted heap of plastic and cracked glass”.
A representative from Apple has claimed that they will be investigating the incident. Fortunately for Bentz, Apple will be offering her a replacement model, but will be putting a $749 (RM3,313.58) till she ships back her damaged iPhone 6 Plus. The question is, will she be keen to use yet another unit of the iPhone?
