The i9 processor was Intel’s attempt to shut down the competition and it is a formidable chip that showed it is capable enough to be an all-rounder for anything you might need it to do. Sure enough, people are using that chip for workstations and rendering systems but it was limited to only desktops until now.
Intel has recently announced that they will be bringing the i9 processors to laptops and they have produced two laptop-grade processors, the Core i9-8000H and the Core i9-8950HK. News of this came from the release notes for AIDA64 Extreme which listed the two mentioned processors. However, there are no details on the core-count and clock speeds that these processors will push out but expect it to be really powerful chips as seen on the desktop-grade versions of the chip.
Assumptions are that the processor will be released somewhere next year, as they are still focused on releasing a new processing unit which they are working with AMD to produce for a year-end release.
