Voice messages are pretty common nowadays, since it has already been applied on WhatsApp, Facebook, WeChat, and many more. Instagram will soon be able to do the same as they have confirmed that they will be applying the voice message feature into the app.

The new voice message feature will allow Instagram users to send direct message via voice message instead of typing out their reply. In addition to that, users are able to record their voice message for as long as one minute in length, and they are able to use the feature on both personal and group direct messages.

To use the voice message feature, just hold onto the microphone button to record your message and let go to send. But do remember that once you’ve let go of the button, the message will be sent automatically and you cannot delete it should it be a mistake. However, if you think you need to change your message or you’d like to record a new one, just slide your finger to the trashcan icon to start over.

The voice message feature is now available on iOS and Android devices, but it will be rolled out soon for those who have yet to get the latest Instagram update.
