Jane Manchun Wong works her magic again, revealing Instagram’s newest plan to share link to Instagram stories through her skills in reverse engineering.
In her tweet just minutes ago, Wong posted a screenshot that reveals more options when you click on the three-dots on the bottom left of your Stories. Amongst these options are two new ones called “Share Link…” and “Copy Link”, allowing users to share the link of that exact story for others to view without having to go through all his/her Stories.
Instagram is working on Sharing Link to one’s own specific Story
For example, link to my Szechuan stirred noodles Story: https://t.co/6TDgexC8Ve
Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram too 😉 pic.twitter.com/hNVewsSa6Q

Currently, the closest thing an Instagram user can do is send the specific story to other Instagrammers, but that will be limited to individuals who are in the app. With the new feature, the link could be shared to other platforms, or users can just copy the link of the story and send it to their friends in other platforms. Either way, it expands the ways people can view an Instagrammer’s Stories.
However, you’ll need to be logged in to view the Stories, so you’ll definitely need to have an Instagram account. There are no official statement on whether this feature will be implemented, or when it will be released.
