Instagram is always trying to improve their user community and reduce acts of bullying. Today, Instagram introduced two new features that can further reduce offensive comments and encourage a healthy community.
One of the features is a notification that will appear when offensive comments are detected before posting. This means that if you’ve decided to write a negative comment that could be inappropriate or hurtful, Instagram will nudge you with a “Are you sure you want to post this?” notification so that you can think twice before posting.
The second feature is called ‘Restrict’. Instagram believes some users are reluctant to block, unfollow or report their bullies, so this is Instagram’s alternative to those methods. You can now restrict your bully — without he/she noticing — leading their comments to be only visible to them and no one else. They’ll also be unable to view if you’ve read direct messages they sent you and when you’re active on Instagram.
Which feature do you think is more useful? I believe the second feature is a very practical and convenient feature that many will appreciate.
