Shortly after Apple sent out the invitation for its September 7th event, we now have a new batch of leaks various Apple products that are not the iPhone 7.
First on the list of leaks is the iPad Pro. According to Bloomberg’s sources, Apple is rumoured to be rolling out new iPad software features either as part of an upgrade to iOS 10 that is scheduled to occur in the first half of 2017, or as part of the next major iOS version at the later end of 2017. This iPad update is expected to bring with it improvements to the Apple Pencil, with one of the features allowing users to annotate objects in many applications across the whole operating system, similar to how the Samsung Note smartphone does. The iPad hardware will also be refreshed next year, giving the tablet faster display technology that allows for smoother zooming, panning and scrolling. Alongside the hardware update, Apple is expected to introduce a 10.5″ iPad Pro.
The other piece of information is that Apple is apparently working on a new standalone monitor. As many of you may know, Apple has discontinued the manufacturing of the 27″ Thunderbolt display. Now, Apple is reportedly working with LG on a new monitor with a hi-res “5K” screen. “5K” displays aren’t exactly new territory for Apple as the company has been selling iMacs with built-in 5K panels for a while now, but a 5K display created by a collaboration of both LG and Apple is fascinating nonetheless.
Interesting though the information may seem, all of the leaks mentioned above will not be at Apple’s September 7th event. Suffice to say, you shouldn’t expect solid information on both the new iPad Pros and the alleged 5K display until 2017.
