Along with the HUAWEI Mate 30 series, the company also revealed the HUAWEI Watch GT 2 that will be launching later this year. The smartwatch comes in 42mm and 46mm series and has an upgraded design and more.
The Watch GT 2 now sports an all-in-one 3D glass screen with narrower bezels and an AMOLED screen that supports slide and touch gestures. In addition to being 5ATM water-resistant, it comes with many sensors such as capacitive sensor, air pressure sensor, optical heart rate sensor, gyroscope sensor and more.
The Watch GT 2 is powered by the Kirin A1 chipset, runs on LiteOS and supports Bluetooth 5.1, but the more attractive feature is the battery life of the 46mm series that is said to last up to two weeks — even with the heart rate monitor and notifications switched on. As for the 42mm series in classic mode, the watch can last up to one week.
Apart from that, the HUAWEI Watch GT 2 has bigger storage that allows its users to store up to 500mp3 songs. There are 15 sports in total that it can track including running, climbing, triathlon, elliptical machine and more. With its heart rate monitor, the watch can detect bradycardia and heart failure so when a user’s heart rate goes above 100bpm or below 50bpm for 10 minutes and above, they will be notified. Of course, this excludes the circumstances whereby users are working out.
Similar to many fitness trackers, HUAWEI Watch GT 2 also offers sleep monitoring and provide reports and analysis of the sleep quality. It also comes with a sedentary alert to remind users to move after a period of time and can track your daily steps.
The 42mm series is priced from EUR229 (RM1,059) while the 46mm series is priced from EUR249 (RM1,151).
