HUAWEI will be launching the Mate 30 Pro 5G version in Malaysia soon and to top it off, the company claimed that the device is the first 5G phone in Malaysia that is certified by SIRIM.
Equipped with the Kirin 990 5G processor, the Mate 30 Pro 5G supports both Non-standalone and Standalone 5G networks — this is quite crucial especially at the early rollout stage of the 5G networks. The device is also certified to use the 700MHz, 3500MHz and 3700MHz bands — these are few of the spectrum bands that have been covered by MCMC.
That being said, HUAWEI is still being mysterious about the launch date of the Mate 30 Pro 5G but there’s already a huge billboard showing off the phone in Subang Jaya. We’re guessing the phone will launch soon, perhaps as early as the end of this month.
Still, since MCMC expects commercial deployment of 5G in Malaysia by Q3 of 2020, the early arrival of the Mate 30 Pro 5G isn’t really necessary. It could’ve been launched later in the year when 5G networks are available nationwide.
