Huawei has always been challenging its competitors in many ways, and in light of the iPhone X’s announcement, the company has picked on Apple exec Craig Federighi’s failed attempt at the keynote getting Face ID with a pretty cheeky clown video, while at the same time teasing that the real AI phone is coming on the October 16th. Huawei is expected to reveal the Mate 10 next month which comes with an advanced Kirin 970 system-on-chip, the chip was unveiled in IFA 2017 and is said to deliver groundbreaking performance with AI learning capabilities.

The Kirin 970 CPU features a Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which works very similarly to Apple’s A11 Bionic chip and it is a set of processing cores dedicated to run AI tasks. While the meme that Huawei teases at Apple could mean that its NPU works much superior to Apple’s solution, we have yet to see how well it will work on the new Mate 10, it isn’t new for Huawei to implement solutions like this, as the company has also used Machine Learning algorithms on its EMUI software to optimize the software based on user behaviour.

More will be revealed in the coming weeks, and we should expect Huawei to unveil more teasers to make fun of Apple’s iPhone X.
