We already know that the newer HUAWEI phones will not come with Google apps pre-installed in the device, but many of us knew that we could just sideload those apps instead. Well, that’s not true anymore.

Recent reports revealed that users will not be able to access GMS even when they sideload the apps. Once Play Store is launched, users will be notified that the device is not Play Protect certified, so they won’t be able to use Play Store at all.

In a statement released by Tristan Ostrowski, Android & Play Legal Director, he pointed out that Google’s apps and services cannot be preload or sideload due to government restrictions. This means that HUAWEI phones that are launched to the public after May 16, 2019, are uncertified and will lose all access to GMS.

“Sideloading Google’s apps also carries a high risk of installing an app that has been altered or tampered with in ways that can compromise user security,” said Ostrowski.

If you still plan on getting a HUAWEI phone, then it’s time you start embracing Huawei Mobile Services.
