Huawei has just announced in a media release that the Nova 7i will be launched in Malaysia this 14 February – and we’re apparently the first country outside China to get the smartphone.

Based on the official images shared by Huawei, the Nova 7i looks to be the exact same device as the Nova 6 SE, which was available in China since last month.

In the release shared by the Chinese company earlier, selfies look to be the order of the day – the 16MP lens offers video shooting capabilities along with features such as stickers and effects.

At the back, you’ll see a Google Pixel-like square camera module – the Nova 7i gets four lenses which includes a 48MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide angle shooter, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. Huawei is also touting a new “slimming effect” feature for the main camera – driving home the vanity-centric direction the Nova 7i is going for.

The phone is a 6.4-inch device with an IPS LCD panel that pushes 1080p resolution. Under the hood, you’ll find a midrange Kirin 810 chipset along with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

It’s powered with a 4,200mAh battery which supports up to 40W Supercharge, which Huawei claims can charge your device up to 70% within 30 minutes. The official Malaysian pricing hasn’t been disclosed yet, so we’ll have to wait until Valentine’s Day to find out.
