Huawei seems to be releasing a lot of smartphones recently, although the Mate 10 is still the company’s most important product that has yet to made its debut, all eyes are now on the Huawei Nova 2i, the first Huawei smartphone to feature dual camera setups on the front and back, and featuring a full-screen display like many recent smartphones, Huawei has also released a similar model in China and it is known as the Maimang 6. As reported by our friends over at MDroid, a Huawei dealer has managed to capture a picture of the phone’s promotional banner, which confirms that the phone does indeed have 4 cameras and a 5.9-inch 18:9 display.
If the above image is true, the Huawei Nova 2i has a lot to offer for a mid-range smartphone at RM1,299, as it is powered by a Kirin 659 processor paired to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, the display also has a very decent resolution at 2160×1080, which is just slightly lower than the Galaxy S8. The camera system of the Nova 2i is probably the most unique feature of any Huawei devices till date, the main camera is a 16MP+2MP setup while the front camera is a 13MP+2MP setup. The Huawei Nova 2i will run EMUI 5.1 based on Android Nougat out of the box, which we assume will be updated to Android Oreo at a later time.
The Huawei Nova 2i will make its debut on September 26th, the same day that Vivo is launching its V7 and V7 Plus smartphone.
